This year's OOP, the conference for software architecture, will take place from February 8-12, 2021. The conference, which is being held online for the first time, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and is titled "Back to the Future”. Software architects, as well as project managers, business analysts and software developers will have the opportunity to get to know both proven and promising concepts of the future in order to develop even better systems.

Again, we will be represented this year with several contributions to the conference program and to the specialist forums.

In the masterclass "From Monolith to Modulith - A Case Study from Industry" (Tue, 12:00 p.m.), our colleague Hendrik Lösch uses an actual project from the semiconductor industry to look at the challenges lurking in restructuring a monolithic architectural approach. He will analyze the team setup, the migration strategy and important detail decisions in order to enable a mutual exchange of experiences.

Afterwards, Maria Petzold and Benedikt Wörner will deal with exploratory testing (Thu, 9 a.m.) and show how one can benefit from collaborative testing methods by a session-based test management in regulated environments such as medical technology. They will address both the project approach as well as common obstacles.

In their lecture "Cloud saves lives!" (Thu, 2:45 p.m.), our colleague Michael Muck and Sebastian Timme (FTI Engineering) will deal with a current challenge in health care. They present the innovative cloud-based assistance system for emergency rescue (AVA), which was jointly developed by ZEISS Digital Innovation and FTI Engineering, and address the characteristics and challenges occurring in the fields of public sector, the medical environment and cloud technologies in connection with the GDPR.

Finally, our colleague Kay Grebenstein invites you to the "Quality Casting Show" (Thu, 4:30 p.m.). In this panel discussion, all our speakers once again comment on the thesis that with constantly growing application demands and increasing complexity, quality criteria such as security, maintainability, usability, etc., come more and more into focus - besides functionality. We invite you to discuss the different perspectives on quality with them.

We look forward to five interesting conference days combined with exciting networking at the digital OOP 2021.
